About
Janani Krishnaswami, MD, MPH practices at Academic Medical Associates at the University of Texas Southwestern. She is triple board certified in preventive medicine, internal medicine, and lifestyle medicine. Dr. Krishnaswami leads initiatives in health equity, community engagement, and disease prevention. She directs clinical operations for patient-centered wellness clinics serving the indigent. Dr. Krishnaswami specifically pioneered Community-Engaged Lifestyle Medicine which is a health equity clinical training model centered on addressing determinants of health disparities in ethnically diverse populations. She has taught at the University of Texas and the University of California systems. Dr. Krishnaswami has also served as a physician advocate for healthier environments and lifestyle-based prevention across three states and four countries. Her writing has been published in the New York Times, and she has regularly appeared as a guest expert on television news.
